Zum Sammelauftrag der Bibliothek gehört die Beschaffung, bibliografische Erschließung und Archivierung von Publikationen über den Landkreis Neuburg-Schrobenhausen (bzw. die ehemaligen Landkreise Neuburg und Schrobenhausen) und das Herzogtum Pfalz-Neuburg." The State Library Neuburg an der Donau (SBND) is the regional library of the Free State Bavaria for the district of Neuburg-Schrobenhausen. As an academic library, it is open to all interested parties from the region for scientific purposes, professional work and training. On behalf of the library collection includes the procurement, bibliographic indexing and archiving of publications on the district of Neuburg-Schrobenhausen (or the former districts of Neuburg and Schrobenhausen) and the Duchy of Pfalz-Neuburg.
