Post 22 is the second largest Post in South Dakota, with about 680 current members with a 2012 goal of 758. This is down quite a bit from the 1200 members it had when formed in 1919.
At the time of charter, the Post built its current home and raised funds for various projects by holding dances, carnivals, and concession stands at various events. The club room also provided sources of income.
Today, Post 22 is a very active post, especially in the area of Legion Baseball. Post 22 has the premier baseball team in the state and has a tremendous record for winning state tournaments and competing well at upper levels of Legion baseball. It has competed several times in the American Legion World Series.
