The plaza down town is typical of most Mexican towns but the gazebo is not. Most villages have concrete or wrought iron gazebos but this one is made of native wood. The park is neat and clean and generally a safe place to hang out. Mazamitla is a bit of a local tourist destination with the pine forests and surrounding mountains.
