The town of Arcadia, just east of the Edmond/Oklahoma City area is a small rural town, with an ever-growing future. Arcadia is the home of the famous Route 66 Round Barn, and the popular service station/convenience store "Pops".
Along Route 66, east of these landmarks, is a new shopping center known as the Windmill Shops. The building shows it was constructed in 2006. It has been built to look old and historic. On the sidewalk in the center of this area is a two-sided, free standing clock, similar to the ones put out all over Oklahoma as part of the 100th Anniversary of statehood celebration.
