This Starfighter Model 104 F is the only Lockheed manufactured F-104F on display in North America. Although others can be found in Europe this one is easily viewed at the Royal Candian Legion Branch Number 104, in Innisfail, Alberta.

"STARFIGHTER MODEL 104 F



July 2, 1959 Canada announced they had chosen the 104 Starfighter to replace the Sabre Mk.6 which was in service with the RCAF's European Air Division. The Canadian Government wanted equpment to be fitted specifically to RCAF requirements and opted to assemble the aircraft under licence in a Canadian factory. August 14, 1959 it announced that Canadair of Montreal was selected to manufacture 200 aricraft for the RCAF under licence from Lockheed. Only thirty 104 Model F's were built by Lockheed in the United States as pilot trainers. This plane is one of only two of its kind left in the world. The other is currently on display in Peer, Belgium.
