This Civil Defense Shelter sign is near the door to the Birmingham, Alabama, City Hall. It is faded so the capacity is not legible, but it must have been fairly large since this was in the heart of downtown.

The City Hall is located at 710 20th Street North. This street marks the west side of Linn Park. At the other side of the park is the Jefferson County Courthouse. The sign itself is located to the right of the City Hall main entrance.
