Mother Sea, a three ton sculpture of a Mermaid, in Portland stone by Peter.W.Nicholas in 1993.

Situated on Porthcawl Seafront, with panoramic sea views of the Bristol Channel & Beaches.

I remember lots of stories in the local newspapers at the time she was placed, mostly about how much it cost the people of Porthcawl to commission this Sculpture that only appealed to a few.

PS. The Porthcawl Netball team are called the Mermaids.
