Cerná studnice Lookout belongs in general by its 26 meters to the highest stone observation towers in Jizera Mountains. Access to the highest peak of Cerná studnice ridge at an altitude of 869 meters was originally made possible only by footsteps carved in the stone. Wooden observation tower stood then since 1885 there. After it very successful architect Robert Hemmrich from Jablonec has designed solid tower capable to withstand harsh natural conditions, in addition together with adjacent chalet. Difficult building of whole mountain complex took about one year. Admirable is the fact, that for 160 cm thick wall up to three tonnes heavy granite blocks were used by builder Corazza.

Rozhledna Cerná studnice patrí se svými 26 metry k nejvyšším kamenným vežím/rozhlednám v Jizerských horách. Prístup na nejvyšší vrchol hrebene Cerné Studnice v nadmorské výšce 869 metru byl puvodne možný pouze po schodech vytesaných v kameni. Drevená vyhlídková vež zde stála už od roku 1885. Tehdy byl osloven velmi úspešný architekt Robert Hemmrich z Jablonce, aby navrhl kamennou vež schopnou vydržet drsné prírodní podmínky. Obtížné budování celého horského komplexu trvala asi jeden rok. Obdivuhodný je napr. fakt, že 160 cm silnou zed tvorí až tri tuny težké žulové bloky.
Rozhledna poskytuje skvelý rozhled do kraje - vidíme z ní rozhlednu na Bramberku, Slovanku, Tanvaldský Špicák, Jablonec n. N., Liberec, Smržovku, severovýchodní cást Jizerských hor, Ralsko, Bezdez, Trosky, Kozákov, rybníky Ceskodubska, Železnobrodsko a pri dobré viditelnosti i cást Krkonoš.
