Described by US Geological Survey 1938 (fgj).
Station is the southwest corner monument of Wyoming. It is a large sandstone post about 14 inches square at the bottom and about 12 inches square at the top and about 4 feet high set vertically in the ground. In the top of the post is set a standard u.S.G.S. Brass bench mark marked elevation above sea level 7150 feet datum even slack.
Reference and azimuth marks are standard bronze disks set in concrete as described.
Reached from the post office in Coalville by going north two blocks to a gravel street right, this is the first street south of wards service. Here turn right, east, and follow graded dirt and gravel main traveled road, up Chalk Creek for 18.1 miles to the pine cliff dance hall, store, and cabins on the right. Thence continue northerly on main traveled road for 5.6 miles to a fork just after crossing a small wash. Thence right, northeast, on trail road 0.25 mile to a side road right. Thence right, south, for 0.05 mile to a bridge. Pass over bridge and follow main trail road 0.05 mile to a fork. Thence left, southeast, on main traveled road for 0.3 mile to a fork. Thence left fork, southerly, main traveled road, for 0.4 mile to a point just after crossing a small draw. Thence leave trail and turn right, southerly, cross country covered with sage brush to a four-foot red sandstone post, marking station.
Azimuth mark is set in the intersection of main road up Chalk Creek and the trail road leading off to the northeast. It is about 20 feet east of the main road and about 20 feet north of the trail road. Two standard reference marks were set and stamped (WYO. SW COR. USGS. 1938)
