Marnevic is a family owned company that has been in Fox Creek since 1968. The town which was incorporated in mid-1967 puts this business as one of the original businesses to open with the formation of this town.

"Canada became a country on July 1, 1867, and one hundred years later on July 19, 1967 Fox Creek was officially incorporated as an Alberta community. Fox Creek had its beginnings as a small service station on a quiet county road. The town now has about seven thousand vehicles going through the area daily. Fox Creek is a full-service community of 2,278 friendly residents. The Town acts as a strong service centre to the burgeoning oil and gas industry. Located just two and one-half hours drive northwest of Edmonton on Highway 43."

"Annual events like our Slo-pitch Tournament, golf tournaments, curling bonspiels and the Athabasca Raft Races are big hits with both the residents of Fox Creek and our out-of-town visitors.

The Fox Creek Chamber of Commerce also hosts a spectacular Canada Day celebration each year in front of the Tourist Information Centre with live music, a parade, great food and the now famous "Show n' Shine."

Besides these events our Emergency Services organizations host an annual ball (dinner and dance) and the RCMP hold an annual charity golf tournament."

Besides the oil and gas development that occurs in the area and that so many residents and business are tied to the success of the industry Fox Creek is a great community with friendly people that are more than willing to to make you feel welcome whether your stay is a few days or a few years.
