Emmet County Park- International Dark Sky Park - Municipal Parks and Plazas on Waymarking.com

In early May 2011, Emmet County was awarded International Dark Sky Park designation for the Headlands property -- just the sixth such park in the United States and the ninth in the world. This is located in beautiful Emmet County Park. Follow the road and the sings back about a mile into the park to the parking area then take the Dark Sky path down to the beach. Bring binoculars or telescopes if you prefer to enhance the experience for a view you will savor and remember.
