Near the city line between Taunton and Norton, on a bridge along Bay Street, is a survey disk mounted in the sidewalk.

To get to the monument, from I-495, take the exit for Bay Street, then go north on Bay Street, crossing a bridge (monument is on the left), park at a turnout immediately to the right, then walk back to the monument on the west side of the road. The post with signs for the city line is visible from the mark to the south.

The description on the Massachusetts Highway Department Disk Survey web site is as follows:

"IN THE NORTHEAST PART OF TOWN, ON THE SOUTHEAST SIDE OF WINNECONNET POND ON THE WEST SIDE OF BAY ROAD, 65.4 FT SOUTHWEST OF SOUTHWEST CORNER OF END POST, 29.9 FT WEST OF NORTHWEST CORNER OF END POST, 128.4 FT NORTH OF TOWNLINE SIGN POST, ABOUT 174.0 FT NORTH OF THE CENTERLINE OF KING PHILLIP ROAD, 4.8 FT EAST OF NORTHEAST CORNER OF SOUTHWEST END POST, 58.4 FT SOUTH OF THE NORTHWEST END POST."

The disk is a bronze disk with the following on the face. Along the edge of the disk is "Mass Dept of Public Works - Traverse Station." In the center, there is a triangle with a punch mark. There appears to be other embossed marks but any marks are unrecognizable now. The mark itself is in fair shape.
