In the Chestnut Hill neighborhood that straddles the Boston and Newton city line, is Boston College. On the campus are athletic facilities, including the Yawkey Center, which has a cornerstone on the northwest corner of the building dated 2004.

The stone has a yellowish color to it and is to the right of the entrance (facing the building).

The Boston College Athletics web site states that the building is a modern facility for the teams. It cost $27 million ($15 million of which came from the Yawkey Foundation) to build the facility, designed and built by DSJ Design of Charlotte, NC. In March 2005, the building was occupied. The building has new offices, breakout rooms, locker rooms, medicine facilities, strength and conditioning facilities, and theatre-style classrooms. Also within the building is a museum for BC sports.
