This station, a copper bolt bearing USGS stamping, is located in Elmwood village of Hancock, NH. It is set in top of a large boulder in an area that was once a very busy junction of two railroad lines complete with a train station and depot. All of this is gone now; all that remains is a large wooded area with a couple of abandoned rights of way, a concrete platform, and a stone foundation.

THE STATION IS LOCATED IN HANCOCK, 7.5 MI (12.1 KM) NORTH FROM THE JUNCTION OF U.S. ROUTE 202 AND STATE ROUTE 101 IN PETERBOROUGH AND 0.9 MI (1.4 KM) SOUTH-SOUTHWEST FROM THE JUNCTION OF U.S. ROUTE 202 AND STATE ROUTE 137. TO REACH THE STATION FROM THE JUNCTION OF U.S. ROUTE 202 AND STATE ROUTE 137 AT THE HANCOCK/BENNINGTON TOWN LINE, GO SOUTHWEST FOR 1.1 MI (1.8 KM) ON ROUTE 202 WEST TO SOUTH ELMWOOD ROAD, TURN LEFT AND GO SOUTHEAST FOR 200 FT (61.0 M) ON SOUTH ELMWOOD ROAD TO THE JUNCTION OF A DIRT ROAD ON THE LEFT. TURN LEFT, CROSS A BRIDGE AND GO NORTHEAST FOR 633 FT (192.9 M) ON THE DIRT ROAD TO THE JUNCTION OF AN ABANDONED RAILROAD BED. TURN LEFT AND GO NORTH FOR 180 FT (54.9 M) ON THE RAILROAD BED, TURN LEFT AND GO WEST FOR 153 FT (46.6 M) INTO THE WOODS TO THE STATION ON A BOULDER. THE STATION IS A USGS COPPER BOLT STAMPED--692 P--, SET IN THE TOP OF AN 8-FT X 11-FT PARTIALLY EXPOSED BOULDER 2 FT (0.6 M) ABOVE THE GROUND. 12.0 FT (3.7 M) SOUTHWEST FROM A 1-FT DIAMETER PINE TREE WITH A METAL REFLECTOR, 13.5 FT (4.1 M) NORTHWEST FROM AN 0.8-FT DIAMETER PINE TREE WITH A METAL REFLECTOR, 153 FT (46.6 M) WEST FROM THE ABANDONED NORTH-SOUTH RAILROAD BED AND 22.0 FT (6.7 M) SOUTH FROM STATION F 11 1933 SET IN A 6-FT X 4-FT BOULDER. NGS LINE 16, 2ND ORDER AND USCGS-SS HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY LINE 53, 3RD ORDER.

When you turn left at the rail bed and advance into the woods as described, look for a stone foundation to your right. When you see the foundation, keep going straight into the woods as described until you see a large boulder. This is the only boulder of it size that you will see, and this is the one with the mark in it. It will probably be covered in a blanket of moss and pine needles. When you look around the area, you may notice the tree or trees that bear the reflective plates. Note the mention of MY0842, the C&GS disk stamped F 11 1933. That mark will be about halfway between this mark and the marked tree to the north.
