Die Leutaschklamm ist dennoch einzigartig in Ihrem Charakter und der Bauweise. Sie unterscheidet sich von herkömmlichen Klammen, die Holzbrücken und –steige aufweisen. Ein moderner Stahlsteig windet sich über einen Kilometer lang durch die Schlucht, 43 m hoch über der reißenden Leutascher Ache, die dann in Mittenwald in die Isar mündet.

Die Begehung der Leutaschklamm ist ein Erlebnis! Spektakulär ist die Brücke zum Gletscherschliff. Die Klamm stellt eine Bindeglied zwischen Mittenwald Oberbayern und der Leutasch dar und wurde nach 2jähriger Bauzeit im August 2005 fertiggestellt. Die Wanderzeit von Leutasch nach Mittenwald und über den Gletscherschliff zurück beträgt ca. 1,5-2 Stunden. Die Durchwanderung ist kostenlos.
Parkplätze stehen an der Klammbrücke bzw. am alten Zollamt Leutasch zur Verfügung. Es besteht auch die Möglichkeit von Seefeld nach Mittenwald mit der Bahn zu fahren und von der Brücke am Ortseingang in die Klamm zu wandern. Dort trifft man erstmal auf die alte Anlage der Leutaschklamm von der Mittenwalder Seite, die bereits um 1900 von der Brauerei Mittenwald angelegt wurde. Ein 500m Fußweg führt zu einem 23m hohen Wasserfall. Eintritt: ca. € 1.80. Für Hunde ist der Weg durch beide Klammen nicht geeignet.
