The Benedictine monastery from 1032 was founded by St Prokop for monks using Slavic liturgy. In 1421 its was burnt down by the Hussites and in 1785 definitively abolished. The construction of the monastery church from 1315 was not completed, only the southern side aisle with a tower was built. A chapter hall with frescos dates back to around 1350. In the second half of the 19th cent, the monastery was rebuilt in the Baroque style. The interiors house a historical exhibition and a museum of technical glass.

Benediktinský klášter z r. 1032, založen sv. Prokopem pro mnichy, užívající slovanskou liturgii. Koncem 11. stol. byl klášter osazen benediktiny latinské liturgie z Brevnova, r. 1421 vypálen husity, nekolikrát obnoven a v roce 1785 definitivne zrušen. Klášterní kostel z r. 1315 je jen cástí plánovaného kostela, z kterého byla vystavena jen jižní postranní lod s veží. Kapitulní sín s freskami je z doby kolem r. 1350. Barokní prestavba na zámek probehla v 2. pol. 19. stol. V interiérech je historická expozice Staroslovenská Sázava a muzeum technického skla.
