Created in 2003 as "an elaborate April Fool's thing", artist Mark Cline arranged to have several dinosaurs around town to promote business, which was successful. In summer 2005, almost all of the dinosaurs were relocated to Dinosaur Kingdom over in neighboring Natural Bridge, VA. Remaining on the "loose" is one at the Luray Zoo and this one in downtown Glasgow. Thanks to Roadside America (website link below) for explaining the history of these creations.
