Althogh the water tower remains in place, more as a structure to spot the community on the horizon. Today, a reservoir provides water holding capacity to the community.

The Village website indicates the following with respect to water storage:

"Breton has an abundant source of water approved and certified by Alberta Environment. This high quality resource is utilized in the Village by two wells. The Reservoir has a capacity of 400,000 gallons. The Village of Breton does not meter its water, instead a flat monthly rate is charged to the residents."
