CITY OF BERTRAND, NE, is a two-inch aluminum disk set in the top of the concrete footing for the southwest leg of the Bertrand, NE, municipal water tank in Bertrand, Phelps County, NE. Its described location is the same as that for NGS bench mark disk F 164 (1934) (PID = LH0815), but that disk is not in evidence. The Bertrand disk is in neither the NGS nor Geocaching databaseS. To reach from the intersection of US Highway 283 and NE State Highway 23 in Elwood, NE, go east and southeast on NE State Highway 23 for about 13.1 miles to the intersection with Minor Ave in Bertrand. Turn left and go north-northwest for about 0.2 miles to the municipal water tank and the disk in the footing for the southwest leg. Recovery of this station first reported at the Geocaching datasheet for station F 164, PID = LH0815.
