"Die Kampenwandbahn ist eine 1957 erbaute Kleinkabinen-Zweiseilumlaufbahn. Sie führt von der in Aschau im Chiemgau, Ortsteil Hohenaschau, gelegenen Talstation auf die 1461 hoch gelegene Bergstation, an der zahlreiche Wanderwege ihren Ausgangspunkt finden.
Die Gondelbahn legt die Strecke von 2480 m in etwa 14 Minuten zurück, wobei ein Höhenunterschied von 841 m überwunden wird. Das Hochplateau, auf dem sich die Bergstation der Bergbahn befindet, liegt rund 200 m unterhalb des eigentlichen Gipfels der Kampenwand und bietet ein Panorama auf den Chiemsee und seine Umgebung. Die Talstation liegt auf 620 m und dient zugleich als Spann- und Antriebsstation. Mit den 4er-Gondeln können bis zu 300 Personen in der Stunde befördert werden." wikipedia

The 'Kampenwandbahn' is a small two-wire cable car built in 1957. It runs from the base station in Hohenaschau to the 4793 ft. high mountain station where numerous trails are starting.
The cable car sets back the distance of 8136 ft. in about 14 minutes, with a vertical drop of 2759 ft. The plateau on which the mountain station is located is approximately 656 ft. below the actual summit of the 'Kampenwand' and offers a panoramic view of the lake 'Chiemsee' and its surroundings. The base station is located at 2034 ft. and also serves as an adapter and power station. With the 4-person gondolas are transported up to 300 passengers per hour. wikipedia
