Highway 88 runs north-south in this area between Minden, Nevada and Paynesville, California. It is a rural area, just east of the Sierra Mountains and there are no facilities nearby. The only indication of the border is the "Welcome to" signs for each State. Well, that, and a wide shoulder on each side of the highway to pull off the road.
