The post office in Newcastle was constructed between 1932 and 1933. The funding was approved before the Depression however the post office was constructed as a Depression era project. The post office is among twelve post offices in Wyoming which were listed in a thematic study of post offices across Wyoming to be listed on the National Register. The study included federally funded post offices constructed between 1900 and 1941 and shows the changes of post offices over that period of time.
