There are several information boards along the Rugby section of the Oxford Canal starting at Hillmorton in the west and ending at Newbold in the east.

Hillmorton was where the Oxford Canal Co. had their workshops, there were three narrow locks in the flight, now dulpicated since 1840 to speed the flow of traffic.

Newbold is the site of a tunnel built during the modernisation of the canal, it was originally a contour canal following the lie of the land but some 13 miles was cut off the Oxford to Coventry distance when aquaducts and tunnelling resulted in straightening of the route.

Elliotts Field was one of the places on the canal where the original 'contour' route deviated from the new 'straight' route.

All the boards give infomation about the canal and facilities, and Rugby with variations depending on the location.
Location Name: Oxford Canal, Rugby.
