David Darst served as a Private in militia in Prather's Company. After the Revolutionary War David Darst lived in Woodford County, Kentucky before emigrating to Missouri territory with Daniel Boone while the area was still under Spanish control. He settled in the area near present day Defiance in an area now known as Darst Bottoms. It should be noted that one of David's sons Jacob was one of the Immortal 32 from Gonzales who were the only reinforcements to the "Alamo" and he gave his live in defense of the Alamo on March 6, 1836.
