Burning the Salem Railroad Station - #7 Sign/Marker, John Hunt Morgan Heritage Trail 1863 in Indiana: On July 10, 1863, General Moagan Entered Salem with two brigades of cavalry. While in Salem, Morgan's troops looted then burned the railroad station and three railroad cars. Salem experienced more devastation as the result of Morgan's Raid than any other Indiana community.
