This pair of stone tablets on a plinth are to be found behind the fence on Holyhead Road in Bangor.

There is a Welsh and English tablet.

The tablets read:

The tablets were erected to commemorate the donation of land on the shore of the Menai Strait known as Wartski Fields to the City of Bangor by the late wife of Isidore Wartski.

Isidore Wartski was of Polish/Jewish heritage and the son of Morris Wartski who had come to Bangor after fleeing Tsarist Russia. The family business flourished in Bangor. Unlike the rest of the family Isidore was succesful in the drapery business. He was a very popular Mayor of Bangor between 1939 and 1941.

The Wartski family business is now a world renowned company dealing in art, jewellery and antiques.
