Praia do Burgau is a beach and a village. As so many in the region, Salema village was founded hundreds of years ago by fishermen who started a fishing community on the location. Of course, the beach played an important role on the selection of the spot, being a big helper for the fishing activity. Then tourism was invented and fishery became secondary and then it was over all together.

Nowadays it's a great spot for an out of season escapade. It's a small village and a small beach, both cozy and friendly. I wouldn't come here in the Summer though, when a huge crowd gathers and it's a hell to find a parking spot at walkable distance to the beach.

With the village there all commodities are present: public toilette, restaurants, etc.

Coordinates were taken from the closer parking area which anyway it's the same as the access to the beach.
Type of beach: Natural

Location of beach: Seashore
