In Boston, in the Post Office Square part of the Financial District, is a reddish building known as 100 Federal Street. This building, currently adorned with the name of Bank of America, is unusual in that there is a 'bulge' in the lower third of the building. The bulge has also generated another nickname - "The Pregnant Building." See the article below for one source that used it. The owners are ONE HUNDRED FEDERAL ST LPS.
The building sits in the block bounded by Federal, Franklin, Congress and Matthew Streets. It is the tallest building in the immediate area, as the Prudential and Hancock Towers are in the Back Bay, the Federal Reserve Bank Building is along the waterfront at Dewey Square, the BNY Mellon Center is a few blocks to the north at Court and Washington Street, and One International Place is by the waterfront at Oliver Street.
According to the Emporis web site, the building was known by its previous name, the First National Bank of Boston Building, the name of the bank that was previously in the building before Fleet Bank took over that bank, then Bank of America took over Fleet. Currently, it is the sixth highest building in Boston,
