A churchyard of the All Hallows Church High Hoyland. There is a record of a church on this site for over 800 years. In 1875 a new church was built in nearby Clayton West, from where most parishoners came, and in 1879 parochial rights were transfered to Clayton West. The church then became unused until 1901 when attempts were made to hold a service in it, usually three a year until 1928. In the 1970s the redundant church was sold.
The churchyard is still open to the public and in good order, and the church appears now to be in private residental use and in very good condition.
Because of this there is now no notice or name boards.
Inscription on one of the headstones reads-
"IN LOVING MEMORY
FLORRY WARD
DIED 29TH JULY 1965
AGED 74 YEARS"
......
Building is GradeII listed
