Official Description:
Bronze, high-relief figure set in a granite stele atop a six-tiered granite base. The figure is a male, confederate soldier standing "at rest," holding the barrel of a rifle in both hands while the butt of the rifle rests between the figure's feet. His proper right foot is slightly forward, his head is turned slightly to his proper left, and he wears a campaign hat with brim. The stele is made of rough granite, the upper tier of the base is smooth granite, and the lower five tiers of the base consist of sets of rough granite blocks.

Inscription:
IN MEMORY OF THE COURAGE, PATRIOTISM AND DEVOTION OF THE CONFEDERATE SOLDIERS OF LOUISA COUNTY. 1861-1865

The database also includes this information: The United Confederate Veterans, Louisa Camp no. 27, resolved in 1901 to erect a monument to commemorate confederate soldiers of Louisa County who died during the Civil War. The Louisa Confederate Monument Association was organized in 1902, with all-female officers, to raise funds for the monument. Funded by private contributions and Louisa County. Cost: $2,013.
In current dollars, the cost of this monument is around $50,000. It is well designed to last into the ages.
