From their website:

The Fairview Fire Department has 30 volunteer community firefighters operating from the fire hall located in downtown Fairview. The Department provides fire protection and rescue services for residents of the Town of Fairview and surrounding area.

Often the first to respond to a scene, the Department provides the following emergency services for those in need:

- Hazardous Materials Mitigation (HAZMAT)
- Heavy Rescue (including the use of Jaws of Life)
- Minor Emergency Medical Support
- Fire Suppression

In addition to emergency services, the Fire Department contributes elsewhere in the community; overseeing Canada Day fireworks, providing tours for schoolchildren, public safety education, and participating in parades.

Once a month, members meet for an informational in-service to keep up training necessary to perform duties efficiently.
