This former drinking fountain is located in the wall on the north side of the old A55 road between Llandegai and Tal-y-bont.

The fountain is built of Anglesey limestone and was commissioned by George Hay Dawkins Pennant, the local landowner at the time in 1834.

A worn Inscription carved around the inner arch reads ' THIS FOUNTAIN WAS ERECTED / BY / MR. DAWKINS PENNANT / FEBY 17TH 1854 '.

The water would have flowed out from the carved shell at the centre of the fountain into the animal drinking trough below.

Place: Roadside.

Use: Monument.
