Isaac Garrison was born in 1732 and it thought to be in North Carolina. He served in the Revolutionary War in North Carolina troops under either General Francis Nash or Col. Edward Buncombe. This unit fought in the Battle of Brandywine. Following the war he was granted land in the Lick Creek area of Rowan and Surry County, North Carolina acquiring nearly 1,000 acres. He sold his North Carolina land in 1791 and moved to Virgina and then returned to North Carolina in 1795 but stayed for only a short time. He then moved to Hawkins County in eastern Tennessee, in 1798. He remained in Tennessee until 1832 when at age 100 he moved to southwest Missouri. He died at age 104 in 1836. - source
