This triangulation pillar is located on the summit of Yr Eifl near the village of Trefor.
Type of trigpoint: triangulation pillar.
Condition: Good
Flush bracket number: S1620
Height above Newlyn datum: 564.184m
There is a stone shelter next to the pillar, which protects from the wind.
Of interest is the strange metal object inserted into the plug hole. It is shaped like a 4 and has the letters A & H on it.
The views of the peninsula are quite spectacular from the summit. A interesting hillfort, Tre'r Ceiri can be seen on the smaller summit opposite.
There are a number of paths leading up to the summit from Trefor, Llithfaen and Llanaelhaearn. The final part of the path up to the summit it not signposted and is very steep.
