"324 Park Central West (Busy Bee Department Store) - The four-story brick building at this location was constructed ca. 1915. For many years is was home to one of the city's leading retail shops, the Busy Bee Department Store. The first floor of the building was remodeled ca. 1940 with the addition of Carrara glass panels. The building's storefront on both the west and north facades has been altered with wood panels over the display windows. The chamfered corner entrance facing Campbell Avenue has ca. 1960 double doors of glass and aluminum design. Across the transom area are ca. 1940 tan Carrara glass panels. The entrance at 324 Park Central West has ca. 1960 paired aluminum and glass doors and a transom. This entrance has a fluted aluminum surround. This entrance is built in front of the vestibule, which has a ca. 1940 nine-light glass and wood door and structural block sidelights. The upper floors retain their original design and detailing including paired one-over-one wood sash windows with concrete sills, brick jack arching, and concrete keystones. Above the fourth floor windows is a soldier course belt course. At the roofline, the original sheet metal cornice has been removed. The interior of the first floor has been altered with a dropped ceiling and linoleum floor. The upper floors retain separate office areas with single-light and two-panel doors." - Historic District nomination

The upper floors continues to serve as offices. The first floor has been converted to the Springfield offices of Senator Claire McCaskill.
