The Diocesan Museum contains a valuable collection of religious art ranging from the 10th to the 18th century, from the whole Diocese of Urgell including:

  • Wall paintings
  • a collection of Romanesque images of the Virgin
  • a Gothic Altarpiece from Abella de la Conca by Pere Serra (1364)
  • a silver urn of Sant Ermengol by Pere Lleopart (1755)

The cloister was built certainly later than the church, probably at the beginning of the 13th century. The rectangle of the cloisters perimeter is almost square.
There is a remarkable absence of evangelical or historical motifs on the capitals (such as can be seen in the cloisters of Girona and Sant Cugat from the 12th century). The 51 granite capitals, 90cm high and 54cm wide on the upper part, shows a detailed composition based on combinations of various vegetable and zoomorphic motifs with human figures.
The interior space of the cloister is 4m wide throughout. In the north-west corner is the door and the staircase leading to the south tower of the façade.
The Sant Miquel Church built in the 11th century in Romanesque style adjoins the cloister of the cathedral.
