This old hitching post is found at the Heritage Park historical village in Primghar.

This old hitching post is made from Sioux quartzite which was mined extensively in this area of NW Iowa. It was moved from a nearby farm and donated to the O’Brien County Historical Society to be included in the Heritage Park historical village. The plaque reads: “Hitching Post from John C. Cassidy farm, Dale Twp. 1887”
