Dixon Hall served in the Virginia Line but moved to Alabama in 1818. The original stone was reassembled and put flat on the ground, while a modern marker was placed at the head of the grave. On October 15, 2006, a Grave Marking Dedication Ceremony was held by the General Richard Montgomery Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution and the Peter Forney Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. The grave is close to the intersection of Gunter Park Drive and Mid Park Drive.
