The webcam was just installed in May 2006. It appears it's on automatic pan of the harbor/park area. During the summer months, you'll be able to catch all the activity during the Saturday night Canal Concert Series, the Wednesday night concerts (pdf), and the mid-July week long Canal Fest.

Effective September 2006:
In order to successfully log this webcam, you MUST include a picture of yourself, taken with the webcam, with your log. To do this, you'll need to either have someone help you via phone from a remote computer, or use your own laptop or PDA. There is a free wi-fi hotspot here. Any logs without a webcam picture will be deleted. Treat this just like you would a webcam cache.

Your log needs to include a picture taken from the web camera with you in the field of vision. You may need to recruit some help from someone else on a computer while you are at the web camera.
