Outside the Thai Labour Museum is this sculpture of a life-sized, abstract man and woman pushing a large wooden wheel. This statue commemorates the hard work and struggle of the Thai labour movement. The inscription at the base of the sculpture reads "Dignity of Labour" in English, above this is a line of Thai script, which presumably states the same.
The man and woman are depicted as anonymous individuals, without detailed features. Interestingly, the man and woman are shown performing the same task, in an equal manner. This is the sole example of such gender equality I have seen in Thai public sculpture.
