On the south side of Route 20 in Sudbury there is a marker describing the early settlement on the area. The marker is inscribed:
1630 1930
Sudbury

Settled 1638 by a company
of Puritans who arrived in the
ship "Confidence" and were
attracted by the meadows on
the Musketaquid River. Named
after Sudbury in Suffolk.
