Auburn has its 4H fair later in the year than most counties in Indiana and because of that the Free Fall Fair has grown way beyond its other 4H competitors. I'd guess many people don't even know it is a 4H fair any more since so much of the fair is located on the streets of Auburn and the 4H portion is so small and contained off to the east of downtown.
What impresses many who visit for the first time is the absolutely huge merchants tent. If stretched out in a straight line it would be over 6 city blocks long. It is just enormous. You can spend a lot of time in there if you enjoy the merchants.
As for food alley, its a junk food lovers dream come true!!! Don't miss this one. It is worth the drive.
Then there are the rides. They cover block after block after block downtown and all around the courthouse square.
How about entertainment? Top notch entertainers year after year! And not just one night or one genre but night after night with all sorts of types of music. You will recognize the entertainers for sure and enjoy them but they are not usually on just Friday or Saturday. You will need to make some room in your schedule for them even in the middle of the week. Don't worry about the cost, its all free! That's why they call it the Fall FREE fair. The events schedule is online each year and just packed with tons of stuff to do and see. Be sure to attend!
