The monumental memorial sculpted by Josef Bílek was made during 1948 and 1950. In 1950 it was dedicated to victims of World War II and to members of resistance movement in this region. Inside the monument are placed the boxes with soil picked from battlefield where Czech military units were fought against the Nazis - i.e. soil from Sokolovo (Ukraine), Bachmac (Ukraine) and Dukla (Slovakia). The woman statue of the memorial depicts motherland ,and three other on the other side of the monument represent a soldier, a partisan and a fighting worker.
