The GENTNER HOUSE, Market St. near Front St., is an imposing two-story brick house with a formal eighteenth century-type facade whose projected center portion is capped by a pedimented gable. The cornice woodwork is in Greek-Revival design. The house was built about 1850. - Missouri: A Guide to the "Show Me" State, Tour 4, pg. 394.

The Gentner House also known as the Pommer-Gentner House is a primary contributing building in the Hermann Historic District listed on the National Register of Historic Places.  The house has recently undergone restoration work.  Tours of the house are available as part of the Deutschheim State Historic Site.
