These thin solar panels are part of an educational display of a modern design to generate electricity. Nearby is a small windmill which also generates electricity. The solar panels are on a curved top of an archway to demonstrate this new technology of efficient solar panels that are not glass covered (visit link) . They, along with the windmill, power a LED scrolling display sign. This windmill and solar panels are from the nearby National Renewable Energy Labs (NREL) research facilities ( (visit link) and (visit link) ).
Type of system: Photovoltaic (electrical)
