This war memorial honours the men of Greengates and district who died in both world wars and stands in a small memorial garden.

It was originally erected and unveiled on 5th November 1921 and then amended after the 2nd world war to include the men of that war.
The memorial consists of a square column made from Portland Stone on a stepped sandstone base, surmounted by a bronze winged figure of Victory. Near the top of the column are carved the words Honour, Freedom, Peace and Justice, one word on each side.
The face of the memorial has the following subscription.

The memorial is a Grade II listed Building, English Heritage ID 491096. It is also listed in the UK National Inventory of War Memorials under reference 28482.
It was unveiled by Lt. Col. Alderman Anthony Gadie and dedicated by the Archdeacon of Bradford.
The sculptor was Louis Frederick Roslyn, the masons were Messrs. Jeptha Thornton and Sons and the architect was Ernest Wright.
