The Jordan Lodge No 1402 is marked with a large window and engraving high up on the east face of the temple.
Below that at ground level is an engraved foundation dated 1898.
Jordan Lodge was founded in 1872 and regular meetings were originally held at the Masonic Hall in Parkhill Road, Torquay.
In 1898 the temple in Tor Hill Road was completed and dedicated.
The temple was bombed and badly damaged on September 4th 1942.
The temple also suffered a burglary in 1991 in which a safe was taken containing early records of the lodge and temple.
