This facility is owned and maintained by the association "Feldschützengesellschaft Schönenbuch" founded in 1886. It is used for training and education of members as well as for the mandatory shooting tests each member of the Swiss militia has to qualify once a year.
The facility is in the open field, the area is closed off on the official shooting days. These are usually on Sunday, about every two weeks from April to November.
