The memorial consists of a plaque attached to a large block of rock and is located on the trail from the parking lot to the visitor center at the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge. Plaque reads:

IN HONORED MEMORY OF
STANLEY G. JEWETT
1885-1955
AND
WILLIAM L. FINLEY
1876-1953
NOTED NATURALISTS WHOSE FORESIGHT AND UNTIRING EFFORTS LED TO THE ESTABLISHMENT AND DEVELOPMENT OF THE NALHEUR NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGE, ONE OF THE FOREMOST WILDLIFE AREAS IN THE NATION.
