The ubiquitous small teriyaki restaurant is usually nothing but a memory for those who cannot consume gluten, because the soy sauce used to make the teriyaki sauce usually contains wheat. The all-soy tamari sauce is more expensive so is almost never used.
Himitsu Teriyaki sits next to a very popular GF bakery and the influence has been good because they have stepped up and made all their teriyaki dishes available gluten free. Their house salad dressing is GF too so you can get a full dine-in or take-out teriyaki meal just like everyone else. Other GF menu options include fried rice, kimchi, and some of the sushi. The food is great and the staff is friendly and very attentive to ensuring those eating GF know all of their available options and have a good meal.
